The 7 Best Dressed Stars At The 2023 Grammy Awards

The music industry’s biggest night came in full force this past Sunday, and our favorite celebrities did not disappoint. The music industry’s crème de la crème of gathered at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for the 65th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 5th. As we all know, the Grammy’s red carpet is one of the most talked about carpets of the season. There are hits, some pretty significant misses, and everything in between. This year was no different. From Cardi B in couture to Lizzo in a show-stopping, custom Dolce & Gabbana look, celebrities were spotting custom luxury brands. But, of course, the best-dressed of the bunch were those who balanced the high fashion drama (which we always expect of the Grammys) with a little bit of sophistication. Steve Lacy was on top of the competition with his Yves Saint Laurent double-breasted suit.

Steve Lacy

Just a few days ago, Rolling Stone named Steve Lacy the most stylish musician of 2023. Steve Lacy defended his title tonight in head-to-toe Saint Laurent. Lacy wore a double-breasted tuxedo pinned with a rhinestone and pearl shield brooch. He paired the tux with knife-sharp black and white boots. To accessorize, he wore oversized sunglasses and a glossy YSL Manhattan clutch.

Cardi B

It’s no doubt that Cardi B’s 2019 Grammy look was one of her finest moments to date. She had worn Mugler’s The Birth of Venus dress from the 1995 haute couture collection. This year’s red carpet gown was a custom design by Gaurav Gupta straight from the couture runway. The dress delivered just as much drama with sleeves that enveloped her body.

Doja Cat

Doja’s first look of the night was a black latex Versace gown. It had an asymmetrical strap twisted around her back like a loose braid. The dress was styled with matching gloves and tentacle-like hoop earrings.

Nile Rodgers

Rodgers brought that 60’s swag with him to the red carpet. The musician wore a wide-leg lime green Dior suit with a black shirt and black shoes. Rodgers accessorized with a black polka-dot pocket square, a black Chanel beret, shades, and some neck diamonds.

Trevor Noah

This year’s Grammys host was wearing a very Grammy-host-looking suit by Gucci. The comedian wore black straight-leg trousers with a cream-white single-breasted blazer, a white button-down shirt, and a black bowtie. Noah accessorized the dapper ensemble with an emerald-infused pin and a round-faced rose gold watch. He donned a pair of black patent-leather oxfords that featured a pointed toe and a lace-up silhouette.

Lizzo

Lizzo made an entrance in a vibrant orange gown and matching cape by Dolce & Gabbana. The dress, in a light shade of orange, featured a corset bodice adorned with white vertical stripes. Her long, dark coral-hued cape was embellished with flowers, which were concentrated at the top and scattered throughout. The star was performing at this year’s ceremony and was nominated for five Grammys. She won an award for record of the year.

Opting for a shirtless look, Saint JHN snapped in full Maison Mergeila. The artist paired the Margeila two-piece wide-legged tux with an assortment of accessories. The accessories included a black leather Margiela clutch, black-out sunglasses, and a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace atop diamond skulls.

The 65th Grammy Awards Red carpet fashion was not the strongest of the Academy’s annual events. The red carpet veterans are no longer pulling out the stops. However, we do appreciate the few fashion moments that still have us glued to the Awards show.
