K.Michelle Announces “Rebellious Soul” Musical and Cancels Tour to Reflect

K.Michelle recently announced that she has created a musical for her first album Rebellious Soul. It will include most of the tracks of the album that will include “Sometimes,” “Can’t Raise A Man,” and “V.S.O.P.” Not to mention that the musical will be directed by Idris Elba!! We all know that R.Kelly is the mentor of the 27 year older singer, so it’s no surprise that her musical will be like the female version of  ‘Trapped in the Closet.’

My album, Rebellious Soul, we turned it into a musical … it’s on VH1 and Idris Elba is the director. […] I took every song on Rebellious Soul and turned it into a conversation and flipped it kind of like a female ‘Trapped in the Closet’ [by R. Kelly]. I turned the whole album around, Idris heard it. Loved it. And we decided to team up on it. VH1 will air it. I didn’t want to make it this celebrity thing. Me and him decided we really wanted it to be focused on the story and fun and laugh and cry. People have been talking to me about a lot of acting roles, but this will be my first time being on the screen.”

There hasn’t been a set release date for the production but I cannot wait to see it because that album was the truth!! If you haven’t listened to her album Rebellious Soul PLEASE DO SO! Her music is real! She isn’t afraid to disclose her life and say what’s on her mind, especially in her mixtape Still No Fucks Given.

Furthermore, K.Michelle has informed her fans that she will not be doing the second part of the Rebellious Soul Tour because she wants to take the time to gain inspiration for her sophomore album.

Dear Rebels,

I will not be doing the Rebellious Soul Tour (Part 2). I personally decided that I wanted to take the next couple of months to journey off to some different places. A writer has nothing to write about with no

inspiration. I will be traveling to South Africa to spend some time preparing for my new album #AWBAH, and reflect on the woman that I’ve become. <3

I am proud she has made this decision to reflect because I know it will help to make her next album even better than the last. So don’t be disappointed Rebels, just WAIT ON IT!
