From Bas To Wale: 6 Music Videos You Must Watch This Week!

Wale – “Love…” feat. Bryson Tiller

R&B icon Wale recruits Bryson Tiller for their latest visual effort, “Love… (Her Fault).” The music video comes fresh off Wale’s sixth studio album, Wow… That’s Crazy, and catches Wale dealing with a faulty relationship while Tiller finds himself in the midst of their troubles. It’s directed by Teyana Taylor and her emerging production company The Aunties. On the vocal-driven record, Wale questions the vicious cycle of love amongst other things. While Bryson Tiller has yet to release any solo efforts, “Love… (Her Fault)” arrives in a slew of features the Louisville-native did this past year.

Luh Kel & IV Jay – “Tweakin”

St. Louis-native Luh Kel is one of the most impressive newcomers to make waves recently. His breakout record “Wrong” garnered nearly 100M YouTube views since its release and from the looks of it, he’s not letting up anytime soon. On “Tweakin,” Luh Kel enlists IV Jay for fresh new visuals off his debut album, Mixed Emotions. As the title hints, the song is about the lasting effects of love and how it can influence unusual actions. The Brilliant Garcia-directed follows the two artists into an arcade where they have a dance-off before seemingly warping into virtual reality. If one thing is for certain, the chemistry between Luh Kel and IV Jay is arguably unmatchable.

Rod Wave – “Thug Motivation”

Rod Wave took the year by storm following the commercial success of his studio album, Ghetto Gospel. The Florida emcee pierces through the heart with his emotional ballads that lyrically walk you through his pain and upbringings. “Thug Motivation” serves as his first official release of the year and sees Rod Wave reflecting on his newfound success. What really drove this record to become the talk of the town is his subtle announcement of expecting twins. With mellow keys and puncturing hi-hats, 2020 looks to be a busy year for Rod Wave as he prepares to embark on his first headline tour in the forthcoming months.

Bas – “Amnesia” feat. Ari Lennox

With the exciting announcement of Dreamville’s deluxe album Revenge of the Dreamers III, outstanding signee Bas treats fans to a music video off of his recent solo work. “Amnesia” is an Afrobeat track that meshes lyricism with mesmerizing melodies as the Sudanese-born rapper talks about creating a family. It features Kiddominant and labelmate Ari Lennox, who has had all eyes for her soul-infused cadences. Production is handled by DJ Moma and sees the artists roaming the city surrounded by African kings and queens.

Allyn – “Busy”

Emerging artist Allyn recently shared her first visual effort of the year titled “Busy.” The Shoot Something-directed release takes place in her hometown, Sacramento, as Allyn showcases her impressive vocal skills. Often times we find ourselves giving too much of our time—the 23-year-old wastes none of it getting her point across. “Ain’t got time for no hello’s, some people, I eventually outgrown,” she recites. Allyn’s emotive voice captures the audience almost immediately as she harmonizes vulnerable lyrics and soft melodies.

Mulatto – “No Panties”

Mulatto’s newest music video, “No Panties,” is a raunchy kingpin rap on the heels of her recent project, Hit The Latto. The Atlanta rapper went on a hot streak last year, gaining support from fellow rappers Saweetie and Trina. Mulatto’s new music video sees her racing a burgundy Wraith, posted up with her fellow baddies, and jet-skiing on a lake. Throughout the track, she makes several sexual tropes and talks about her appeal to men. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what they like, as she could kick them to the curb whenever she wants: “I left my ex ’cause he was getting on my nerves.”
