Last November, America had a big change. Indeed, a new President was elected and history was made because of his Vice-President, the first woman on this role ever: Kamala Harris! The fact that we love the most is that Kamala is a woman of color as well! There are other women of color inside the institution. Here is the list of the 8 Black women who have made it to the White House. Enjoy!!

Karine Jean-Pierre : Deputy Press Secretary at the White House.Ā 

Karine Pierre-Jean has a rich political background. She started her career as a Political Organizer Campaign for John Edwardsā€™s 2004 presidential campaign. Then she directed Obamaā€™s.Ā Jean-Pierre had many roles at the White House such as Regional political director of Political Affairs, National Deputy Battleground States Director, and more.

During Bidenā€™s presidential campaign last year, Karine served as a senior advisor.Ā She is now the White House Deputy Press Secretary!Ā Congrats!

Symone D. Sanders: Chief Spokesperson and a Senior Advisor

Symone Sanders is a political strategist, former CNN commentator, and a former press secretary for Bernie Sandersā€™s 2016 campaign.Ā 
She first joined Bidenā€™s campaign as a senior advisor and Sanders is now Chief spokesperson and a senior advisor for Vice President Kamala Harris.Ā Congrats!

Joƫlle Gambell: Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy.

Gambell is an economist and organizer. She worked from 2010 to 2012 as a program assistant in the Stateā€™s Office of Foreign Missions in Los Angeles.Ā 
In addition, she worked at the Roosevelt Institute in New-York.Ā 
JoĆ«lle Gambell is now the Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy.Ā Congrats!!Ā

Ashley Etienne : Communications Director to Vice PresidentĀ 

Ashley Etienne has a great journey in the Communication area. She has been a communication director many times in her career.Ā At Barack Obamaā€™s 2008 presidential campaign, Etienne served as spokesperson.Ā 

Etienne is now serving as the Communications Director to Vice President Kamala Harris.Ā Congrats!!Ā 

Cecilia Rouse: Council of Economic Advisers

Rousse is an economist who has served as a member of President Barack Obamaā€™s Council of Economic Advisers. She has been an editor for journals as well.Ā Cecilia Rouse is the current 30th Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers. Plus, she is the first Black at this place! BigĀ congratsĀ to her!!Ā

Marcia Fudge : Secretary of Housing and Urban Development

Marcia Fudge is a lawyer and a politician. She was the Mayor of Warrensville Heights, in Ohio from 2000 to 2008. She is now the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development of the United States.Ā Congratulations!! šŸ‘šŸ¾Ā

Brenda Mallory: Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality

Brenda Mallory is a lawyer specializing in environmental law. She served as general counsel for the White House Council on Environmental Quality during Obamaā€™s term.Ā She is now serving as Chair of the Council on Environmental Quality in his administration.Ā Congratulations!

Ashley Williams: Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations

Ashley Williams is a formerĀ advisor for global womenā€™s issues at the State Department.Ā She also was Senior Assistant to Dr. Jill Biden during Obamaā€™s administration.Ā She has now the role of Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations. Congratulations!!
