Last year Louis Vuitton’s fashion and leather goods sales endured a steady decline in profit. During this decline the brands profits took another hit because of decreased tourism due to the Paris attacks. As a whole LV was struggling last fiscal year.
However, the release of he Supreme and Jeff Koons toward the end of said year proved beneficial to the brands profits. LV’s fashion and leather goods branch has returned to the top as the house’s most profitable section with a 17 percent increase.
The higher ups at Louis Vuitton see correlation between the collaborations and the spike in profits and we agree. Bringing street-wear into the luxury fashion world is a great way to innovate and create all new genres of fashion. And we see many more collaborations in LV’s future.
