Summer Jam: A Look Back at the Festival’s Fashion in the 90s

Summer Jam is arguably the biggest and most influential hip-hop festival to ever exist.

Summer Jam is hip-hop culture. Many greats have rocked the stage since the very first Summer Jam took place at Meadowlands Arena back in 1994.

But Summer Jam wasn’t just about the music, it was about everything that is black culture, including fashion. The 90s were a monumental time for black artists in fashion. Foxy Brown is a perfect representation of this. She represented high end couture meets hood fashion. Her attractive demeanor caught the attention of John Galliano and she was picked as the muse for Dior’s S/S00 collection. It was a time like no other and Summer Jam was a melting pot for it all.

Summer Jam allowed hip-hop fans to come together to celebrate life, music, and fashion. Below we take a look back at fits worn by icons during the 90s Summer Jams.
