Steve Aoki Dropped his New Album and SS18 Dim Mak Collection in NYC!

There ain’t no rest for the talented. Music and fashion artist, Steve Aoki, recently dropped his new album “Kolony” and spring 2018 “Dim Mak” collection.

Aoki and the Build Series held a block party to introduce both projects. They shut down East 4th from Broadway to Lafayette Streets in New York City.

The runway shows trackless was mixed live by a marching band and Aoki himself on the turntables.

Aoki explained the reason behind his sixth collection “Paradise Found” for Dim Mak: “This season started off with the idea of the world we’re living in right now. It’s chaotic, there’s mayhem. The collection is about trying to find hope inside it paradise found, living in this dichotomous reality,” said Aoki.

Using his collection as a platform to implicate today’s society. Some of the pieces from the collection feature the phrase “Land of the free, home of the brave,” printed across the back of the garment. “That idea is missing now in the U.S.,” said Aoki.

The party continued with music from “Kolony”. The album includes features from music’s current top charting artists like Lil, Yachty, Gucci Mane, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz, Migos and more. Aoki shared “It’s its own project…the songs all kind of fit together. It was originally an EP, but it emerged as an album.” Kolony is available now.

Do you agree with Aoki’s comments on modern society?
