Social Media’s Hidden Gem: Curry St. Shots

Curry St. Shots

“This is how Jaelin McGull got to Curry St. Shots in less than a year…”

Jaelin asked his mother for a camera and received one for Christmas 2016. He took the camera out for NYE 2017 and got inspired. Forced to take 33 college credits in one semester, he became overwhelmed. Using photography as an outlet, he began documenting life at Hampton. He took a picture of the student center at night… and BOOM. Everyone loved the photo!

Probate Season came around and BAM another hot photo!

With 33 students wanting him to take their grad photo, Curry St. Shots was born.

He went on tour with Malcolm Jabriel as his personal photographer which gained him more experiences and exposure. He also helped Yahoo cover Hampton University’s 2017 Homecoming and BOOM, more people wanted Curry St. Shots to be at their event. As NYFW 2018 approached, FASHIONBOMBDAILY.COM and InStyle Magazine wanted Jaelin McGull to document their events as well.

He was invited to VFILES Adidas Fashion Show and BOOM! He met a photographer from HIGHSNOBIETY!

Then he met Mos Def, Dave Chapelle, Common, Angela Rye, Trae the Truth, Ice Cube, and Donell, all in one night.

All the while, Jaelin is creating a legacy for his offspring, just like his grandfather did for him. Naming his company after the street his grandfather grew up on in Mississippi, Jay Collier is just getting started. And today it makes a year for Curry St. Shots!
