Shots Fired is Fox’s Newest Racial Controversial Series starring Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James and Mack Wilds

In an era where Trump is President of the United States, numerous killings of blacks by white cops and the Black Lives Matter movement, ‘Shots Fired’ is couldn’t have come at a better time.

The new series on Fox tells the story of a  small North Carolina town that is turned on its head when a black police officer kills an unarmed white college student. The amazing cast includes Sanaa Lathan (Ashe Akino- an investigator who works for the Department of Justice), Stephan James (Preston Terry- a DOJ prosecutor) and Mack Wilds (Joshua Beck- the black cop who shoots the white student).

Surely, after all the police killings that have happened in the last few years,  there are people who have asked the question, “What if Trayvon Martin was white?” or “What if Michael Brown was white?”

The premise of the pilot episode is: after all the black murders of white police have happened, what would happen if a black cop killed an unarmed white kid? How would the media respond? How would the justice system respond? And how would BLACK investigators and prosecutors deal with such a case?

This new series is a must watch! Shots Fired airs every Wednesday at 11:00 PM on Fox.
