Serena Williams is set to return to the competitive tennis courts in early February. This news comes five months after giving birth to daughter Alexis Ohanian Jr.
Serena is set to play in the upcoming Fed Cup alongside her sister Venus, both representing the United States against the Netherlands. She last competed in the Fed Cup back in 2015. This will be her first tennis competition since winning the 2017 Australian Open while pregnant.
Her first match after giving birth was in Abu Dhabi which she lost to French Open champion, Jelena Ostapenko.The forthcoming Fed Cup is scheduled to take place in North Carolina on February 10 and 11.
