If They Try To Destroy Your Self-Esteem, Leave Them Behind!

Hurt people, hurt people. Don’t hurt yourself by staying in hurtful relationships.

Relationships are essential to making us feel whole and connected. We invite certain people into our lives for the purpose of making us better and having someone we can count on for security and love. Whether it’s a romantic relationship or a friendship, we want to be surrounded by those that bring positive energy. As humans, we fuel off the energy of those around us so it’s important to make sure that its good energy.

When you have a partner or a friend that constantly makes negative comments about your appearance or personality, it can affect your self-esteem. You may not realize immediately but over time it will. Often times, negative people are never direct when attacking. They can mask their insults as jokes to lower awareness.

You have to pay attention to your circle. Not all people are good people and whether you acknowledge it or not, the hurtful words do affect your self-perception, self-value, and self-worth. You may struggle to understand why someone you care for can be so negative towards you but it results for one of three reasons they are either jealous, fearful, or unhappy with themselves.

They say hurtful things with the purpose of diminishing your self-esteem and cause you to indulge in self-hate. Your uncertainty about yourself fuels them and they thrive off it. Their goal is to tear you down so you have a negative self-perception and cannot see your own potential.

The hardest part about these negative people in your life is that you look to them for acceptance and unconditional love. It also hurts more because what they say about you matters. If someone is a true friend or partner, they will not do things with the intention of causing pain.

Negative people in your life are damaging to your health. Having low self-esteem can potentially lead to depression. If anyone around you is causing to feel worthless, remove them from your life and move forward. You must protect yourself from negative vibes and negative people. Cleanse your circle from those relationships that are no good for you. You may cherish some of these toxic relationships but they’re not worth destroying your self-esteem. Know that you deserve better and anyone who does not see that should see the next exit.
