Earlier this year, Ravyn Lenae dropped her Ep “Crush” alongside The Internet’s Steve Lacy. The project allowed fans to partake in 5 songs that displayed Lenae’s songwriting skills and smooth vocals. Now, the Chicago native dropped a sultry video for The Night Song, the 4th song from “Crush”. The weird life directed video takes viewers back in time to the disco era.
Lenae performs in a club singing seductive lyrics and draped in vintage. The song and video shows Lenae’s maturity as an artist.
“The melodies are different, just my approach to certain topics are more blunt, and that’s a matter of the sound that’s changed, and also me being older,” Lenae told Fader magazine. “I don’t have to hide certain thing anymore in my music. I’m feeling a lot more confident in who I am and my experiences I feel like this is a coming of age project. {…} Just a little more sexy and feminine.
