Congratulations are in order for Jodie Turner-Smith. The rising actress recently landed a role alongside Daniel Kaluuya in ‘Queen & Slim.’
The hard-hitting plot, tells the story of a couple as they are stopped by the Police, and how the event lingers on in their life thereafter. Melina Matsoukas has been tapped to direct the plot which is set for release next Thanksgiving. Universal is due to distribute the upcoming movie worldwide (eOne in select territories).
Backing the film financially is Makeready, with Pam Abdy formally representing the company in overseeing its completion.
‘Queen & Slim’ marks another grab for Kaluuya, who rounds off an incredible year with ‘Widow’, alongside Viola Davis. Elsewhere, Jodie Turner-Smith will be seen on the likes of HBO, Amazon, and Syfy in a variety of Television series.
