Like father, like daughter. One of Ye’s daughters has chosen to follow in his footsteps by pursuing a career in the music industry.

North West announced her debut album, “Elementary School Dropout,” on March 10, 2024, at Ye’s “Vultures 2” listening party, per Complex. The title pays homage to her dad’s classic and iconic debut album, “The College Dropout.”

North, who is featured on the track, “Talking,” joined her dad onstage to perform. “Talking” debuted at No. 30 on the Hot 100 and garnered 12.33 million official U.S. streams in its first week, making West the youngest artist to appear on the chart.

West shared what can be expected from the debut project in an interview during Rolling Loud California on March 15, 2024.

West linked with teen reporter Jazlyn Guerra of Jazzy World TV during Rolling Loud California to chat about the album and shared her excitement. In true North West fashion, she was tight-lipped about the details, leaning more into the mystery surrounding her debut. The emerging artist kept the interview short but sweet.

“It’s going to be great,” she told Guerra.

There has been no word on when the album will be released. When Guerra asked, the 10-year-old replied uncertainly, not giving anything up.

“Like… I don’t know,” she replied.

She even joined her dad onstage during his set at the festival.

Can we expect Ye to appear on the project?

A father-daughter collaboration on the album would be ideal for West’s first project, and fans are curious if Ye will appear. Obviously, this would be the most natural thing for people to expect, but the 10-year-old is keeping details about the project under wraps. Ye has been taking his daughter to many of his different sets, undoubtedly having her shadow him. So, it’s safe to say that the rapper has a huge hand in crafting her debut project.

North has always expressed an interest in music.

In October 2023, North spoke to i-D Magazine, via TODAY about career paths she would love to explore. She expressed interest in being a basketball player and a rapper.

“Well, when I was 7, I wanted to be a boxer. But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side,” she stated. “When I’m, like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So, a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell.”

She also hopes to inherit both her parent’s successful fashion lines in the future.

“One day, I want to own Yeezy and Skims and I want to be a business owner,” the 10-year-old shared.

North has a lot of interests and plans on being quite the entrepreneur, like her parents. Music is one of many pots she plans to have her hands in. With the upcoming release of her debut album, it is clear that she plans to begin growing her empire quickly. As a natural creative, she is truly her father’s child.

Social media users were concerned after West announced the title of her debut album.

Once the North West announced her debut album, social media users wasted no time sharing their concerns. The album title “Elementary School Dropout” raised eyebrows, mainly because in February 2024, Ye publicly demanded that Kim Kardashian take their kids out of school.

“Kim, take my kids out of Sierra Canyon now. It’s a fake school for celebrities that is used by “the system,” he stated on X in now-deleted posts.

He continued: “At this point, everybody knows what ‘the system’ is code word for. I was removed from my dad by the system, and the system removed me from my children. When the system drafts athletes, they avoid working with those who have their father in their life because they are harder to manipulate. My two oldest know who their daddy is.”

Following North’s announcement, there were concerns about whether or not Ye was removing her from school, especially after his public outburst.

Despite the concerns about West’s school status, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of surprises “Elementary School Dropout” will have in store. The project could cement North as another prodigy. The world now waits for the music.
