More Than a Million Puerto Rican’s are STILL Without Electricity

Although there are videos and the citizens have complained about the impact of Hurricane Maria has left on the island, on December 29– officials stated that half of the island is left without power.

The population of Puerto Rico is three million and according to Geraldo Quinones (the power company spokesman), only 55% of them have electricity. Quinones stated that “officials don’t have enough data” to bring electricity to the remaining citizens of Puerto Rico who don’t have electricity.

Quinones furthermore states to the Associated Press, “the damage was severe!”

However there were reports that made by  Governor Ricardo Rosselló vowing to have fully restored power by December 15, there have been many complications to follow that plan.

As of today January 9, there are still people in Puerto Rico that are left without electricity.
