The New York City Louis Vuitton X Supreme Pop-Up Shop Won’t be Happening Anytime Soon

Louis Vuitton X Supreme

Apologies to fellow fashionistas. As of now, the chances of getting one’s hands on the Louis Vuitton X Supreme fall 2017 collection is pretty unlikely.

The luxury brands hoped to launch the highly anticipated collaboration at 25 Bond Street, NYC from June 29th- July 2nd. However, Manhattan’s Community Board “unanimously” denied the proposal in a public hearing. The meeting notes harshly described pop-up shops as “unnecessary disturbances that have been plaguing our community for the past several years.”

Apparently disturbances from pop-up shops are not uncommon. Often, this type of event attracts customers that are willing to wait in long lines and even camp out on the street. Public urination is also a concern. According to the Community Board, the proposal had no clear management plans on how to control these issues.

However, this may come as no surprise. Supreme has a history of disturbances when it comes to their long lines, specifically at their Lafayette Street flagship store. They have also violated New York City’s permit requirements four times before.

Hopefully Louis Vuitton X Supreme, as well as other brands can overcome these challenges so the public can continue to enjoy the excitement and exclusivity of beloved pop-up shops.
