Keke Palmer and Common Want Reparations In New Movie ‘Alice’

This coming weekend, Keke Palmer and Common will star in a time-traveling thriller titled Alice, written and directed by Krystin Ver Linden. The new release is about an enslaved woman who flees a rural Georgia plantation in 1973. It will keep you on the edge of your seat as the plot unfolds, tracing Alice’s journey through the post-Civil Rights Era American South.

In the coming-of-age revenge thriller ‘Alice,’ the main character (Keke Palmer) runs through the nearby woods after a violent conflict with a vicious and deranged slaveowner, Paul (Jonny Lee Miller). She stumbles onto the odd sight of a roadway, eventually realizing the year is actually 1973. When Alice is rescued by a jaded political activist named Frank (Common) on the side of the road, she swiftly realizes the illusions that have held her in slavery and the promise of Black emancipation.

It’s been more than a decade since the singer, dancer, host, and entertainer made her debut in the film industry. Keke Palmer has shown her range in many films and TV shows over the years. Whether it’s Akeelah and the Bee, Joyful Noise, Hustlers, or True Jackson, VP, she stays booked and busy. Being able to see her in a variety of roles that showcase her acting range proves her versatility.

Alice will be released in theaters on Friday, March 18. And based on the trailer, it looks like it will be a terrific film. Do yourself a favor and take a look at the clip below!
