#ICYMI: Kaia Gerber Turns Designer For Karl Lagerfeld’s Label

Model Kaia Gerber has gone from her days on the catwalk to designing a collection for Karl Lagerfeld’s eponymous label. It will be her first time venturing into the field.

Following in the footsteps of her famous mother, Kaia Gerber is succeeding in fashion in a much more sophisticated way than Cindy Crawford ever did. The 16-year-old is set to design a capsule collection for Karl Lagerfeld’s namesake label. Let’s not forget, Kaia also opened the Chanel show last October for the Spring/Summer 2018 season. The iconic Parisian brand, Karl Lagerfeld is also Creative Director of.

Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia will compose of both clothing and accessories including RTW, shoes, accessories, and jewelry. The process has been in the pipeline for some time and you can see the attraction of such a collection after the popularity of Gigi Hadid and Tommy Hilfiger’s venture. Kaia’s collection with Lagerfeld will see an appeal to a wide audience with a focus on those of Gerber’s generation. It’s been described as a collection in which you’ll see a vision of Karl’s heritage and Kaia’s Californian style. Sound good?

Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Karl Lagerfeld, said in a statement Tuesday: “When Karl first told us his idea to collaborate with Kaia, we were all excited by the incredible potential and power of bringing their two worlds together…We have been working intensely over the last months with Kaia in LA and at our studio in Paris. It was exciting to see her clear vision, passion and engagement, and the collection will definitely inspire many young women.” MEFeater loves the sound of that.

Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia will be available online at Karl.com and in Karl Lagerfeld stores from September 2018. This will follow the line’s début at events in LA, and Paris.
