America’s favorite doll has three new different body types!
For the past year, Barbie has been producing dolls that vary in shapes from petite, curvy, and tall. As beauty standards changed, Toy giant Mattel was faced with decision of sticking to the original doll’s iconic shape or venturing out. Luckily, Mattel decided to go with the latter option!
Mattel has released 23 new dolls with different skin tones, hairstyles, outfits and flat feet, rather than the perpetually pointy ones meant to fit into sky-high heels.
In a statement released on their websites the company says they want “girls everywhere… infinitely more ways to spark their imagination and play out their stories.”
