HP Hosts Second Annual HBCUTech Conference on Career Readiness, Professional Development, and Tech Trends

This September, HP will host its second annual HBCUTech conference. From September 13th to the 16th, the virtual conference will be open to students, faculty (from 1-5 pm ET), and non-students (from 11-4 pm ET). The conference will promote learning, networking, and lasting connections across 100+ HBCUs. And because the conference is 100% virtual, there is no cost or travel necessary for entry.

HP partnered with brands and thought leaders across several industries. They will provide panel discussions and peer presentations that will allow virtual attendees to connect and discuss key topics like the future of work trends, professional development opportunities, and the role of diversity in the tech sector, amongst various other impactful discussions.

Students will even have the opportunity to participate in exciting interactive activations hosted by the Future of Work Academy (FOWA). Activations will include:

In a sector where Black Americans hold only 7% of the jobs, HP is one of few companies putting their money where their mouth is by investing in the futures of young Black innovators.

Since its formation in 2017, the HP-HBCU Business Challenge has provided HBCU students with access to executive leaders, real-world business knowledge, and, ultimately, career opportunities in tech. “More than 380 students across 46 HBCUs have participated, and select finalists later became interns or full-time employees at HP.”

HP is committed to “creating technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere.” And in sharing these opportunities, HP is making life better for students nationwide.
