Homage Year: Fashion’s Latest ‘It’ Bag

It is definitely an Homage Year.

Creative, Antoine Manning does it all from modeling to designing across various mediums. And he has created the latest ‘it’ bag. Homage Year, pronounced (o•maj), has stepped into the vegan leather bag arena. There’s no mistaking what this brand stands for. Each bag is made with intention. They are called mini ‘Ova’ and ‘All Ova’ Manifestation bags for a reason. After these last two years we’ve had, we are all moving with purpose. Manning provides the perfect accessory to do so. The primary and vivid colors all make a statement. Whether it is created with prosperity, protection, or passion in mind is an added bonus. With certain color ways selling out within minutes and followers constantly demanding new drops in the comment section; this brand has steadily built a buzz.

It’s Ova!

The rapid following is similar to the rise of the Telfar bags (alongside big ‘for us by us’ energy). However, when one wins, there is room at the top for everybody. These bags have caught everyone’s eye. From Philly artist, Tierra Whack, to internet personalities you know and love like Trap Selyna. The price is accessible in comparison to the other designer handbags on the market. Yet, even as a rising brand, the quality is top tier. The manifestation bags claim to be “compact enough to hold all essential items”. Lipgloss, ID, wallet – check! The bags’ sturdy construction features a unique egg shape and silk lining. Even the fast-fashion brands have caught wind of Homage Year and started to produce copycat designs. Imitation is the highest form of flattery but, why not support the original and grow that black-owned bag collection.

Recently, Homage Year released seven new Ova Manifestation Bags sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue. The color ways included white, two black (one gloss and one matte), as well as a few statement colors. This collaboration marked a pivotal point for the brand, seeing as Saks has such a large reach. In return, Homage brings its cult clientele and refreshing designs to the department store chain. The brand has also released bags in collaboration with Black Fashion Fair. The last two colors available on the website, pink and vinyl red, dropped on Valentines Day. Manning released a statement on Instagram, “What’s to come is only a testament to what we state within our mission; to tend to the imagination of our customers, while cultivating a world of our own.”

As the brand continues to grow from its start in 2014, we can’t wait to see what’s next. Stay on trend and cop a bag from Homage Year!
