The bitch is back! A new teaser for season 2 of HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ revealed the possible return of the character everyone loves to hate, Georgina Sparks. Georgina was known for stirring the pot in OG ‘Gossip Girl’. If her character in the reboot is anything like the old Georgina, she can turn the new season upside down.
In the clip a woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to Georgina, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, was seen sitting alone applauding in a theater as the words “It only takes one spark… to start a fire,” appears across the screen.
The ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot premiered last July. Although the reboot shares the continuity of the original series, it follows a new diverse clique of Manhattan’s private schoolers who are being watched by an anonymous source. The show, which dives deeper into social media and today’s society, was a huge success in terms of viewership. It broke the record for the most-watched HBO Max original series during its debut weekend.
Although the main characters like Serena, Dan, Blair, Chuck, and Nate didn’t make an appearance in season 1, they were directly mentioned. As for veteran cameos, the reboot did include appearances from some of our fave supporting characters such as Dorota, Cyrus, Eleanor, and Vanya. Georgina’s 10-year-old son, Milo, also made an appearance as Zoya’s accomplice against Julien.
Georgina is undoubtedly OG ‘Gossip Girl’s’ most famous villain. She always showed up to wreak havoc on the main cast’s lives. Her return will surely have an interesting affect on the new characters. And will make for an entertaining new season full of twists and turns.
