Flying Solo SS23 Shows Were Sky-High on MEF’s Must-See List

With the latest start time of the day, Flying Solo was the hot spot of the night. At 10 pm, the entry line is wrapped around the block. Models step outside to the line and pull friends in and spectate. If you had a connect, this show was the time to use it.

Flying Solo, a design collective, highlights emerging exclusive brands with a unique point of view in the fashion industry. Flying Solo is doing their part to make NYFW and the industry overall more inclusive.

Up on the 7th floor rooftop, the L-shaped runway had showgoers packed from corner to corner. Drones circle overhead capturing a unique, interactive experience for viewers at home.

The transparent runway gave models a floating effect as they glided past hundreds of guests, phones in hand ready to capture the views.

Standouts were Laina whose designs gave a Bridgerton but make it fashion vibe (hello Regency-core).

Kymasia by Germain debuted a vibrant collection with a fabulous fashion posse in tow.

Jamemme debuted a minimalistic yet, playful collection using geometric designs and cutouts to accent the model’s features.

Made By Ila debuted a collection perfect for the holiday season laden with rich jewel tones, silken fabrics, and feathers for days.

Which looks caught your eye the most? How do you find new/emerging designers?
