FASHION WEEK UPDATES – MILAN SS/23 MENSWEAR!

Fashion Week is Back! Happening twice a year in Milan, Milan Fashion Week Men’s (Milano Moda Uomo) is a reference point for the latest trends in men’s fashion. This is where new trends prêt-à-porter and accessories for men’s Spring/Summer 2023 season are previewed to press and fashion officials.

The latest collections on display are those of well-known Italian brands such as Fendi, Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, Etro, Prada, Tod’s, and many more. Milano Fashion Week also serves as a springboard for emerging talents introducing their latest collections. This edition features the participation of almost 40 brands.

Versace Men’s SS/23

This collection is a step into the world of Versace and all that it has to offer, including homewares! Models strode through the palazzo clutching urns and some side plates attached to their belt loops, this, as an extension of the brands’ offering.

Ermenegildo Zegna S/S23 Menswear

Artistic director, Sartori is expanding his post-tailoring tailoring aesthetic every season. This time around these developments included new blends of paper and linen used to create rough-edged jackets. This collection featured a very distinct color palette whose unconventional span was in line with Sartori’s unconventional approach to re-evaluating the process of tailoring.

FENDI Men’s SS/23 Collection

For their new collection, the Italian fashion house rejuvenates the classic man’s wardrobe to embody freedom, play, and luxury. Some bold features of this collection include deconstructed silhouettes, exposed stitching, and playful color palettes. The garments that stand out are boxy shirts and polos paired with loose-fitting trousers and high-waisted shorts. Fendi is constantly playing with the familiar shapes of male attire and contrasting it with the extraordinary.

PRADA SS/23 Men’s Collection

“The collection is about simplicity as a concept, as a choice. We are interested in the idea of fashions, in the idea of trends even and this is one. It was about clothes that people could really wear, but with an impact. That for us is fashion, now” says Miuccia Prada. Presenting their new collection — titled “Prada Choices” — at Milan Fashion Week,  Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons have decided to emphasize the power of choice while highlighting the expression of curated processes. Simons added: “The garments are classic, but their mix contradicts, making them exciting and new”.

Men today, don’t want to choose between dressing sharply and dressing casually. They want the best of both worlds. The current fashion trend is all about owning a wardrobe that has a fine balance between traditional and good casual menswear and designers are leading this immaculately!
