Hip-hop has been anything but boring in 2024. From Megan Thee Stallion vs. Nicki Minaj to Chris Brown vs. Quavo, beefs have been breaking out everywhere. However, one person in particular seemingly has the entire music industry against him — Drake. In fact, Drake’s “Push Ups” diss track targets multiple people, from Kendrick Lamar to Metro Boomin.

It all began with one verse from Lamar featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s collaboration, “Like That.” The hard-hitting verse declined Cole’s “First Person Shooter” plea to be peaceful. After all, Lamar, Cole, and Drake are considered the three biggest rappers of their generation. Lamar responded, saying, “Yeah, get up with me, f–k sneak dissing/’First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches/M——–k the big three, [n-word], it’s just big me.”

Fans were shocked to hear the verse, especially on a song with Future and Metro Boomin. Drake has collaborated with Future on various songs and their hit mixtape, “What a Time to Be Alive.” Metro Boomin has also worked with the father of one on several occasions. Nevertheless, fans hoped that Drake would drop a diss in response soon.

Social media users believe that Drake’s “Push Ups” track was leaked on purpose.

Music listeners waited patiently for Drake to respond to Lamar, but it was over three weeks before Drake officially released “Push Ups” on April 19, 2024. Luckily for listeners, the song was leaked days before, on April 13, 2024. Some social media users believe that OVO Sound, Drake’s music label, leaked the song to create more buzz around this diss and see how fans would respond.

Drake dissed many artists in his “Push Ups” track.

It’s no surprise that the bars from Drake’s “Push Ups” diss track target Lamar. After all, Lamar went hard at the Canadian MC on “Like That.” So, in true Drake fashion, he took a moment to be petty and poke fun at Lamar’s height, revealing that he wears a size 7 shoe.

“How the f–k you big steppin’ with a size 7 men’s on?” Drake rapped on the track.

In addition, Drake dissed the “Loyalty” rapper for featuring on songs with Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift. His biggest insults focused on Lamar’s place in the music industry, stating that everyone from SZA to Travis Scott has a better status than him.

The “Tried Our Best” rapper shockingly threw shots at Cole in the song as well. Shortly after “Like That” was released, Cole responded to Lamar in his song “7 Minute Drill,” which was released on his mixtape “Might Delete Later.” After a few days, the 39-year-old kept his word and deleted the song from streaming platforms. While performing at his annual Dreamville Fest on April 9, 2024, the rapper stated that he regretted making the song and expressed it was “the lamest s–t” he ever did.

Drake is not pleased with Cole’s decision to rescind the diss. In fact, he shared his sentiments about it on the track.

“And that f—-n’ song y’all got is not starting beef with us/This s–t brewin’ in a pot, now I’m heating up/I don’t care what Cole thinks, that Dot s–t was weak as f–k.”

After dissing Lamar, Drake dissed several other artists, including The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and Metro Boomin. Music producer Metro Boomin probably received the simplest diss.

“Metro, shut your h-e ass up and play some drums [n-word],” Drake rapped.

Drake wasn’t as harsh on The Weeknd but expressed his disdain for the singer not staying loyal by working with Future and Metro Boomin.

As for Rick Ross, he received harsh criticism, as the former “Degrassi” actor stated that every hit song Ross secured was because of him. He also alluded to Ross’ relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs and the drama surrounding him.

Drake is not letting up.

Although Drake made fans wait weeks before responding to Lamar’s diss, the rapper refuses to be patient for K. Dot’s response. On April 19, 2024, Drake posted a second diss on Instagram titled “Taylor Made Freestyle.” The “Controlla” rapper utilized AI to use Tupac and Snoop Dogg’s voices in the song.

Drake named the song “Taylor Made” to suggest that Lamar is waiting to respond because Taylor Swift released her album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” shortly after Drake’s diss release.

The beef between Drake and Lamar has been brewing for years. In October 2023, we reported that the rapper dissed Lamar on his album, “For All the Dogs.” So, it is clear that the beef runs deep. It’s also apparent that this beef does not end here, as fans await the next drop.
