Maxo Kream debuted his album Punken, January 12. This highly anticipated album came after he caught buzz from his mixtapes #Maxo187 (which happens to be my favorite) and The Persona Tape. This album however differs from his previous projects because this time around he was selective with features. Punken has Watts Native (an LA Rapper), 03 Greedo, Tripple Redd, and D Flower.
Maxo was selective with the features, but had a strong variety when it came to producers. Producers like Sonny Digital, Honorable C.N.O.T.E and Teddy Walton. He also worked with some up and coming producers like Wlderness, Beatboy, Ethereal, $uicideboy$, Tommy Kruise, Wolfe De Mchls, and MexikoDro.
My all time favorite song on this tape has to be “Grannies” which gives the listeners an overview of his life. “Grannies” which is produced by MexikoDro has a melodic vibe, while keeping trap sound!
