Mixtape Monday Review: Bandhunta Izzy’s Code Blue

Bandhunta Izzy, a 21 year-old rising Baltimore rapper, has released his debut project Code Blue, January 12. After gaining attention from hot singles like  “BBB”, “Want War”, “I Got It” and “Gummo Freestyle (6ix9ine Remix)”; Bandhunta Izzy has put together a full-length mixtape. Although it is considered to be a mixtape, the approach that was taken on this tape feels more like an album or EP. Code Blue was engineered by Alex Tumay, who has worked on other projects like The Life of Pablo, Beautiful Thugger Girl, and Issa Album.

With Chicago drill as inspiration, Bandhunta Izzy let it be known that not only is he from Maryland, but he is repping Baltimore to the fullest. He had an amazing lineup of features from people like Key Glock to Young Crazy to Atlanta’s Finest— Peewee Longway to OG Parker to even his brother Bandhunta Jugg.

Some of my favorites on this tape is “In Love Wit Da Trap”, “Boomin” and “Runnin Man.”

Make sure to follow Izzy on all social media @bandhunta_izzy!
