Bbymutha Has Plenty of Truth To Tell on the Smooth BbyShoe EP

Chattanooga rapper Bbymutha has been making anthems for a minute, and her rise is past due. Her style is nostalgic in regards to way down south rappers used to spit back in the day. That southern flare works just as well as it did back then, especially for her. On this EP with 7 tracks and 5 songs, she lets us know on speaker knocking beats where she stands and why she’s the prominent figure she is.

Bbymutha raps in an accented, nasally tone that grabs you; its so different that it forces you listen to her words over smooth, hard production. She rides the beat on “Black & Mld” as she seamlessly switches between verses and the hook. She tells a story of being superior in rap and life. This is pretty much the consensus for the whole BbyShoe, while their are some very clever sexual innuendo lines here and there. On “DOTD”, she raps about how trifling the opposite sex can be. There are so many gems on that track that alludes to men thinking that women are their prerogative.

Her infectious confidence and outstanding sense of self is what is most intriguing about this project. Her rapping is consistent and there is no messing around at all.
