Don Cheadle and Regina Hall are Teaming Up for a New Showtime Series

Don Cheadle is set to make his return to Showtime, 2 years after saying goodbye to his critically acclaimed series House of Lies. The actor will star alongside Regina Hall in Black Monday, a new drama on the network. The show will center around the biggest crash in Wall Street, which occurred on October 19, 1987.

“This is the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the worlds largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine and the glass ceiling,” as stated on Showtime’s website.

The course of the series will focus on what really led to the stock market’s decline that day. Cheadle plays Maurice Monroe, a broker whose the head of the L.A. Raiders of corporate raiders.

Hall’s character, a feminist badass, will portray Dawn Darcy, the first female head trader on the street.

The show was created by Jordan Cahan and David Caspe and produced by Seth Rogen. Hall and Cheadle will both executive produce, and the project will also star Andrew Ranells.

Black Monday will première on Showtime in January 2019.
