Disney has made history this week by airing what seems to be its first gay kiss scene! The popular animated cartoon “Star vs. the Forces of Evil” on Disney XD featured a musical scene, where many couples were shown making out. This scene included two men. The episode, titled “Just Friends,”later incorporated a pair of women.
You can see the headline making kiss at 1:28 in the video, and the second one at 1:49.
The entire musical number depicts various couples, and not only of different genders. “Star vs. the Forces of Evil” also shows couples of different races and body types. The episode has generally gathered praise online, but the hate it has received reminds of a 2014 Disney episode of “Good Luck Charlie,” where two lesbian mothers were included.
