Zombies, Gangsta Rap, and Other Insane College Classes Anyone Can Take!

Maybe you’re tired of taking boring classes. Since there are some pretty wild possibilities you might not even know about, here’s a list of some colleges/universities who have unique courses.

Michigan State University: “Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse – Disasters, Catastrophes and Human Behavior

First of all, this class has big perks. It’s available online. And you don’t have to be a MSU student to take it! Students from other schools can take it too. The class is designed like a “zombie apocalypse”. The course consists of students doing challenges to see human survival during catastrophes. Are you a Walking Dead fan, or just fascinated by zombies? Maybe you can test your passion with this college course.

Oberlin Experimental College: “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang

Another fun class allows you to explore the history of gangsta rap. Most do not know this history. Gangsta rap includes some of our favorite rappers. As a result, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., N.W.A, Wu Tang Clan and Snoop Dogg are honored in this course.

Pennsylvania State University: “Ice Cream Short Course

Less than enthusiastic about business? This one is cleverly titled “Cow to Cone”. It includes learning about management, research, sales, and development. Another part is production and quality control in the ice cream industry. Due to Ben and Jerry’s, Haagen-Dazs, Baskin-Robbins, and more, this college class is sure to foster your sweet tooth, and teach you some pretty cool stuff as well.

Rutgers University: “Feminist Perspectives – Politicizing Beyoncè

Who run the world?

YES, Queen B has her own class! This college level course is based on her influence in culture. Feminism, race, and gender are key areas. The class is for those interested in pop culture’s role in today’s society. Probably no other school has this course. It will be fun for those who know every word to Lemonade. Also, this will be fun for those who don’t even know Beyoncé’s maiden name. (It’s Knowles!)

University of Southern California: “Selfie Class

Because photography can get boring. Welcome to the 2000’s. Especially relevant in our age is Instagram. This course allows students to take selfies! They get a evaluation with questions about the selfie. In addition, the course involves writing and connecting with others based on selfie taking. Therefore, shout out to USC for giving this generation what they really want the most – more pictures of themselves!

Georgia Tech: “Exploring the Lyrics of Outkast and Trap Music to Explore Politics of Social Justice

Almost anybody who knows the difference between Future and Desiigner belongs here. This class is based on how hip-hop leaders have a social impact. As a result, the roster includes Outkast, T.I., Gucci Mane and others. The course is made for finding “…relationships between culture, media, race, science and technology. Dr. Joycelyn Wilson has done studies at Harvard and Virginia Tech. He will be teaching this course. Furthermore, he is an Emmy nominated  producer. Seems like Georgia Tech knows what’s good!

Cornell University: “Tree Climbing

Finally, talk about being a kid again! While college is usually inside, this brings learning outdoors. Students will learn about rope usage and climbing gear. Most of all, students get to build confidence. As a result, if you’re feeling adventurous, check this class out.
