A lawsuit has been filed by five white men against Revolt Media. This is the same company that broadcasts Power 105.1’s popular morning show “The Breakfast Club”, owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs. If you follow any of the hosts on Instagram, you might have noticed Charlamagne (@cthagod) posted to clarify that Revolt is being sued, not “The Breakfast Club”.
“Who can we sue for defamation!!! This headline is fake news but I’m getting it framed to hang up in the studio!!! @nydailynews #BlackPrivilege” he captioned a screenshot from New York Daily News on Twitter. The radio program is known for their “Donkey of the Day” segment, and the host has cast reporter Stephen Brown into their hall of shame for defamation of the show.

This lawsuit comes from men who have previous experience in broadcast, working on “The Howard Stern Show” in the past. Richard Wilson, Michael Schiff, Jason Preziosi, Todd Baker, and Douglas Goodstein all claim that they were told they didn’t understand “the culture.” The ex-employees felt they were fired for being “…Caucasian and much older than their replacements,” according to the lawsuit. They also accused the African-American staff members of being unprofessional. However, they felt that they were personally held to a higher standard of conduct. Furthermore, the men argue that having a grip on black culture is not part of their job description.
