Chance the Rapper  is making a difference on and off the stage!

The Chicago rapper met with Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner to discuss local education issues and funding.

It all started from a Grammy night Twitter exchange. The governor congratulated Chance on winning his three Grammys as an independent artist. Chance the Rapper responded by requesting a meeting. While hopes were high, but the Chicago Native  says things didn’t go that well.

Expecting to leave with clarity, Chance unfortunately left with vague answers.

“The kids are on the table right now, and when we spoke for a second it sounded like we were going to, it sounded like we were going somewhere, but it sounds like it’s hinged on passing other bills,” he told local reporters.

Rauner believes the meeting went well and is excited to see how the new partnership will continue.

“I think he genuinely cares, I respect that. Having a dialogue with someone who is passionate about a better future for the young people of Chicago and Illinois, I’m with him 100 percent,” Rauner said.

Not all hope is lost. Chance tweeted that he will regroup and make plans to win for Chicago Public Schools.
