Cupid and the Stork must have had a serious meeting in 2023 because 2024 is bringing in a new generation of celebrity babies! There is nothing like a Black woman’s pregnancy glow, and we will have no shortage any time soon. Several women have announced their pregnancies, and some have already given birth. Nevertheless, we are excited to see these women expand their families.
According to Chinese astrology, these ladies are lucky because 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. Children born in the Year of the Dragon are “destined for good fortune and greatness. The tradition also states that these children are charismatic, confident, and powerful. Here are five Black celebrities expecting in 2024.
1. Bria Anderson
Bria Anderson, wife of Major League Baseball player Tim Anderson, announced her third pregnancy on Jan. 16, 2024. She revealed the happy news in an Instagram reel celebrating Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Founder’s Day. Anderson did not directly address the new baby bump but instead included a quick clip of her cradling the bump.
The baseball wife has kept her pregnancy out of the spotlight until now. On April 7, 2024, Anderson announced that her little one, Timothy Devon Anderson III, nicknamed Trey, had entered the world.
2. Gabourey Sidibe
“American Horror Story” actress Gabby Sidibe announced that she is expecting in February 2024. To make the news even bigger, she revealed that she is having twins! In an Instagram post, she poses with her husband, Brandon Frankel, and states they are happy to have twins to give their cats new playmates.
Sidibe and Frankel became engaged in 2020. They officially tied the knot in March 2021.
3. Ayesha Curry
Ayesha Curry, wife of NBA player Steph Curry, announced her fourth pregnancy on March 1, 2024. The Curry’s have famously welcomed three children, each displaying their personalities at their dad’s press conferences. Coincidentally — or maybe purposefully — all of their children have been born in July. This leaves fans to wonder if Baby No. 4 will arrive around the same time.
Using Sweet July’s first digital cover, Curry posed with her new baby bump, officially announcing the pregnancy. She and her husband posted and shared the cover on their Instagram accounts.
4. Jasmin Brown
In October 2023, Jasmin Brown announced she was expecting a baby with former NFL player Cam Newton. The couple began dating in 2021 and welcomed a baby girl on Mar. 6, 2024. Brown is seemingly in good spirits, taking to Instagram stories to discuss life after giving birth. The new baby girl is Brown’s first child and Newton’s seventh.
5. Allyson Felix
Track and field Olympian Allyson Felix revealed her second pregnancy in November 2023. Posing in a picture with her husband, Kenneth Ferguson, and 5-year-old daughter, they revealed in an Instagram post that they are making room for a new family member.
In a separate post, Felix was candid about their journey to this pregnancy. She shared that the couple struggled with infertility. This led to them utilizing IVF to become pregnant. The picture displays the syringes Felix used while trying to become pregnant.
Many congratulations to these beautiful Black celebrities who are expecting and have delivered in 2024. It is dangerous for Black women to give birth in America, so that said, we wish them all healthy deliveries, happy babies, and memories that last a lifetime!
