MEFeater’s Best Dressed: The 90th Academy Awards

As the 90th Oscars ceremony was about to begin, MEFeater was still fawning over the red carpet! The night, as always, was full of talking points but equally full of glamorous looks. Below, we’ve given you our best dressed from the 90th Academy Awards.

First, we must congratulate Jordon Peele’s win for Best Original Screenplay with Get Out; he is the first black man to ever do so. He is also only one of four to be nominated.

While Octavia Spencer didn’t nab the award for Best Supporting Actress in The Shape of Water, it’s worth noting that she was the first black actress to be nominated again after winning one previously. Here’s to continued recognition!

This year’s ceremony didn’t go without a show of support for both the Me Too and Times’s Up movements. Some attendees simply wore Time’s Up pins while Best Actress winner Frances McDormand voiced her support. To state the gender imbalance and to celebrate female nominees, Frances made every female nominee stand up to be recognized.✊✊ Shout out to Jimmy Kimmel for hosting the event with an equally brilliant monologue. You can view Kimmel’s monologue here.

Now to the fun part, the red carpet! Don’t forget to go to MEFeater.com for more Oscars coverage.
