Being Twenty in NYC Sucks!

Let me start by saying…

LIVING IN NYC AT THE AGE OF 20 SUCKS !

I can’t say this anymore without getting angry. Living in NYC at the age of 20 is one of the most annoying things ever. You can’t get into any of the poppin’ clubs, you can’t drink at certain establishments, you can’t get into any strip clubs, you can’t buy a hookah pen, YOU CAN’T DO SH*T! It’s funny because when you turn 18, you’re like, “Yeah I’m officially an adult. I can do whatever want.” But then when you turn 19 and 20 you realize you really can’t do a damn thing. It’s even worse when you have a late birthday, such as myself. I love being a Scorpio, but having a birthday in November is just a tease!

Patiently waiting to turn 21 like…

There are so many events and places where I want to attend, but I can’t because of my age. Who made the “legal” age of twenty-one anyway? Why couldn’t it be twenty? I mean that’s the age where you’re officially not a teenager. Twenty should actually be the age of adulthood because at eighteen you just graduated high school, which means you are allowed out of the house more often and are experiencing dumb sh*t in practicing your new-found freedom. By the time you are  twenty years old you have hopefully learned from your mistakes and can hopefully make the proper decisions in life. And if we are being really honest all the things rendered to be legal at twenty-one is done before that age anyway, so give us twenty year-olds a break and let us inside the club and give us a patron margarita while you’re at it!

Don’t get me wrong living in New York City is an experience within itself, but some of these parties targeted for twenty and below are awful. You would think people a little older than eighteen and in college, would know how to party or be festive. These shindigs are reminiscent of high school parties that would always get shut down by the cops. Currently, I’m sick of attending these events in hopes of it being something entertaining. So for now, I’m going to be a “boring” 20-year-old and focus on my upcoming film projects and wait until I turn 21 to actually turn up!
