This Tuesday was definitely a musical day. Both Azealia Banks and Walk Off the Earth debuted music videos from their new or upcoming albums. Even though both acts are in totally different musical genres, both videos were equally creative with a tad bit of weirdness added to the sauce.
Even though Walk off the Earth is a Canadian Band, they took their talents to sunny California for a weirdly creative music visual. Directed by John Poliquin, Rule the World is a cool and fun music video with lots of energy. This is the first single off their upcoming sophomore project.
I can’t say I truly understand the concept behind the video, but I am impressed with how the energy of the song matched with the visuals. The painted dancers and chalk animations were also a nice touch. Rule the World is the first single from their upcoming sophomore project. Along with releasing a music video, Walk off the Earth also announced the dates for their up-incoming tour. Check out the dates below!

The Harlem based rapper debuted Ice Princess, the 9th track from her album, Broke with Expensive Taste with a creative flare. The video features the 23-year-old as a Medusa like character, with vicious snakes falling from her crown like hair. She is fully pale and wears an icy blue tight outfit, resembling an evil ice princess. In the video she and her robotic army attack psychedelic figures in the sky, by turning the objects into ice. It seems like Azealia wins until the psychedelic figures erupt from a volcano burning Ms. Banks in the process.
I have to say I’m really impressed with this music video. The video is very creative and the idea actually ties in well with the concept of the song. However, I’m not surprised. Azealia Banks always delivers great Artistic Imagery. From Licorice and Heavy Metal and Reflective to her second most recent music video to Chasing Time, Azealia always keeps her videos fun, theatrical, and simple. What I love about her is that she finds a theme and sticks to it, unlike some artists. It’s creative, but not bazaar.
