Ashanti officially confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that her and Ja Rule have a joint album in the works!
It has been sooooo long since we’ve heard the sweet melodies of Ashanti and the hard, raspy raps of Ja Rule on a song together. It is surprising the Murderhouse duo never completed an album together. The last time the two collaborated was on “Helpless” from The Hamilton Mixtape.
Ashanti explained that she and Ja Rule were waiting on the right time to release their album.
“Listen, me and Rule, it’s so funny because we’ve been talking about that for so long, but I think now he’s like, ‘OK, now it’s time to do it,” Ashanti told ET’s Nischelle Turner.
Now is definitely the time to do it. Every artist is releasing collaborative albums and Ashanti and Ja Rule had to step up to the plate. They gave us some of the best collaborations in R&B history. “Mesmerize Me”, “Always On Time”, and “Down 4 You” prove their chemistry and knack for creating hit songs. They gave us some of the best collaborations in R&B history.Their joint album couldn’t have come at a better time.
We couldn’t be more thrilled about this joint album! Looks like Bey and Jay might have some competition!
