The sayings themselves are deliberately demeaning to women and embarrassingly cliché. Is this the norm in this bizarre era of dating?
Many women are observing and complaining about the way heterosexual men behave amongst their lovers and friends. We’ve heard countless stories of men bringing their buddies on dates, spending more time playing video games with their friends than spending quality time with their spouse, and even wearing specific clothing based on the approval of their favorite rapper/ball player/celeb.
The many ways they value their friends approval (or the approval of any seemingly powerful man) are displayed in the way they dress, act, and navigate their lives. Many men have admitted to dating someone because their friends are impressed by them, not because they actually like them. Does community approval determine who you date, marry, or even have kids with? Of course, we value true long lasting friendships but at what point does the balance between friendships and relationships occur? Is trusting ”your boys” more than trusting your own partner truly a sign of a stable relationship?
