Since her debut in 2001, Alicia Keys has given us many R&B classics. From her first hit single, “Fallin,” to her collaboration with Usher on “My Boo,” she has not let up. The songstress became famous for her contemporary use of the piano, playing it often in her videos and at concerts. Keys’ best songs span over 20 years and nine albums, solidifying her spot as a legend.

She also became known for her signature hairstyles. Constantly rocking cornrows, her influence inspired Black women everywhere, with many people emulating her woven protective styles.

The Aquarius singer celebrated a birthday on Jan. 25, 2024. At 43 years old, she has ventured into many industries: beauty, fashion, film, and publishing.

Though she has accomplished many things, Keys’ artistry in music is critically acclaimed. Decades after their release, people continue to add her songs to playlists. Here are five of Alicia Keys’ best songs of all time!

In 2001, Alicia Keys hit the scene and never looked back. She released her debut album, “Songs In A Minor.” The album catapulted Keys to success as it charted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The album was led by the single, “Fallin’.” The single has been cemented in history as one of the best R&B songs ever. The hit charted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for seven weeks.

2. You Don’t Know My Name

Keys released her sophomore album, “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” in 2003, and it instantly became a hit. The composition of the tracklist spoke true to the title of the album. This project revealed a more mature Alicia who knows precisely what she wants.

The album was led by “You Don’t Know My Name,” a song people still listen to regularly. The lyrics reveal a love at first sight, but she is unsure how the guy feels about her. Fans everywhere love the interlude of her speaking on the phone to the mystery man and the coinciding music video.

3. If I Ain’t Got You

“The Diary of Alicia Keys” was also home to another hit for the piano player. Affected by the many tragic events in 2001, Keys wrote “If I Ain’t Got You” to heal. She spawned the song from the grief of losing her close friend, the R&B princess, Aaliyah. The record is a reminder to tell those close to you that you love them and not to value material things over relationships.

4. No One

We could not leave off “No One” from this list! The song is arguably one of the biggest songs of her career. In 2007, Keys released her third studio album, “As I Am.” The hit single led the album and remains a contemporary R&B classic. In 2023, “No One” received its ninth platinum certification from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). It also earned her two Grammys at the 50th annual ceremony in 2008.

This classic duet has been a fan favorite for many years. Considered to be one of the best R&B collaborations of all time, “My Boo” is in a league of its own. Keys and Usher worked together to write the song. Usher released it as a single on his album “Confessions.” The song went on to chart at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for six weeks.
