Alfre Woodard and John Kani joins the upcoming remake of Disney’s “The Lion King” cast.
Woodard is set to voice the role of Sarabi (Simba’s mother), while Kani takes on the character of Rafiki.
The film also includes stars Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, John Oliver as Zazu and Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner as Pumbaa and Timon. Chiwetel Ejiofor is rumored to be voicing villain character Scar.
The Lion King remake is directed by Jon Favreau and set to arrive in theatres July 18, 2019.
