Netflix has a new series about an Afro-Colombian time traveling witch! Yes, you read that correctly. Siempre Bruja (Always A Witch) is a fantasy-drama that follows the life of 18-year-old Carmen, a Colombian slave, and witch from the 17th century. Carmen, played by Angely Gaviria, is tied to a stake, being prepared to burn to death. The next thing we see, she’s emerging from the water and the year is 2019! Now she must adjust to living in the modern world.
