MEFeater Exclusive: The Lost Souls Debut “Double Trouble”

double trouble

Following their début mix-tape, Illuminate, the now 18-year old duo is back at it again with another impressive project, ironically named Double Trouble.  Apparently, they decided to name their sophomore mix-tape after the “nickname” given to the identical twins for obvious reasons by various people they met in their hometown. The tape consists of songs The Lost Souls have been working on over the course of last year, ranging from hyper singles such as TURN UP and Scream  to more lyric conscience singles such as UGHHHH! and my personal favorite, Winter Madness.  Along with songs reminiscent of a younger New York City sound, made popular by the likes of Big L, A Tribe Called Quest and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, the mix-tape also features short skits of mini stories. According to the twins, the skits on the tape are derived from life situations the twins experienced.  “The ‘street n*gga’ skit came from one night, when we were on our way back home and someone on our hood stops us just chatting, ” BG Fire told us. “The ‘Enemiez Klose’ skit was a conversation between us and someone we were once close to for a long time, but was actually in reality someone, who was basically an impostor the whole entire time. We Called it “Enemiez Klose” because even your closest friends can be your enemies and you wouldn’t even know it.”

Double Trouble is available for download at Audiomack.com.
