It’s very hard to make any impactful movement forward without reflecting honestly about why you’re still stuck in the same place. This requires a brutal and difficult level of self awareness and honesty. You have to be able to reflect on your past failures in order to prevent those mistakes going forward. Be honest with yourself here, take some time out of your busy day, and reflect.

2. Identify your strengths (& weaknesses)

Zone in on what your strengths and weaknesses are. This will affect all of your steps moving forward! You will need to take make moves that align with your strength and minimize your weaknesses. This will also affect the type of people you keep around you. You want people to help develop your weaknesses into strength.

3. Cut off dead weight

4. Learn something new

It’s hard to boss up with the same old knowledge. In order to reach your goals you have to learn something new. That can mean through books, podcasts, youtube videos, or talking to some people who are successfully doing what you’d like to do. Learning new skills, view points, or knowledge about a topic might give you the insight to take steps you wouldn’t have known about if you hadn’t searched for knowledge.

5. Water what you want to grow

So you’ve figured out what stopped you the first time around and you’ve gotten rid of some of the hurdles contributing to that failure. You’ve also learned some new things. What’s next?

Now it’s time to invest in the things that will help you grow. That can mean any number of things. It can mean actively seeking to build relationships that will help you grow into the person you see yourself being. It can mean taking some of the money you would’ve spent elsewhere and investing it in software or a class to contribute to your goal. Do you want to learn weave making, photoshop, starting a small business? Find a way whether that means time or money invested in watering that plant. Before you know it it’ll be a full on tree.

6. Repeat the cycle.

It might be best to repeat the whole cycle once or twice a year maybe more. The more frequently you self-analyze and adjust the faster you will become your best self.
