Fashion Week is an exclusive opportunity for us to flaunt our best style as we engage in the seasons’ shows. This season, a number of designers successfully showed their much anticipated Spring/Summer 2024 trends on the NYFW runway, setting the tone for the following year. We saw cutting-edge prints, patterns, silhouettes, and styles that will impact fashion for the foreseeable future. What you might have missed, though, is the whirlwind of drama that took place at some of the NYFW shows! Thanks to the world of TikTok and the loyal creators who risk it all for content, we have managed to bring you all the Milan and NYFW drama in 4K from the front row.
From influencers forcing their way in to fashion pranksters strutting the runway, this season was filled with chaos and controversy. It’s truly astounding how fashion week has taken on a comical twist. However, this drama and chaos serve as a stark reminder of our beloved fashion industry’s vulnerability. As the masses strive to communicate with creative directors, the looming question is: are they listening? Only time will unveil the answer. While we eagerly await, here are some of the most shocking moments from Fashion Week.
1. Fred Beyer — Creators Inc. Runway Prank
When a prankster in a trash bag marched down the runway, the audience didn’t seem to notice that he was an intruder. YouTuber Fred Beyer walked the catwalk during a fashion show hosted by Creators Inc., an agency for social media influencers. Beyer wore a torn rubbish bag, a printed shower cap, and salmon-colored shorts while walking the show without authorization. He nonchalantly peeks over his shoulder before strolling down the runway to Kanye West’s All of the Lights, as seen in a viral video. As audience members gasp, security forcibly pulls the man off the runway halfway through his walk.
On social media, views were divided, with some pointing out that onlookers were initially not suspicious.
“Perfect example of how ridiculous these shows are that everyone thought this outfit actually belonged on the catwalk,” commented one user on Instagram.
2. Animal Rights Activists Interrupt Coach Runway
During New York Fashion Week, animal rights activists interrupted Coach’s runway show to protest the use of leather. Two protesters joined models on the runway as they modeled the company’s Spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection, with one activist wearing only body paint depicting muscles, flesh, and ligaments placed over underpants. One woman was holding a “Coach leather kills” placard, while the other had the same saying painted on her front.
A third activist captured the scene on video. According to CNN, security attempted to stop the protesters early in the show, but they got nearly halfway around the room before being physically removed from the runway.

3. Tommy Cash – Controversy At Diesel SS24 Fashion Show
Estonian rapper/singer Tommy Cash has taken social media by storm with his funny but also cringe-worthy, strange, and super controversial fashion looks. In the past, the rapper has attended shows wearing muscular suits, MSCHF boots, and clown costumes, but his costumes are often odd rather than obscene. Cash has a big following, as indicated by his 1 million Instagram followers, but his recent attempt has divided them. Dressed in an outfit that can only be described as a cruel caricature of the homeless and pushing along an actual trolley, Tommy Cash seriously outdid himself with this one.
4. Security Mayhem At Spring Studios
Sergio Hudson welcomed some of the biggest names in fashion, film, and music to his NYFW SS24 show at Spring Studios. Quinta Brunson, La La, June Ambrose, Marsai, and Coco Jones were among those in attendance. Kimora, Ella Mai, Yvonne Orji, and others also showed their support. However, outrage, frustration, and mayhem swept over the Spring Studios entrance just minutes before the “bad bi**hes-” themed show. In a viral TikTok video, attendees can be seen being refused entry at the door by security.
This obviously resulted in more chaos, as there were influencers and some celebrities who were also not being let in. According to a TikToker and stylist named Sean, people were trying to finesse the guards, but the guards were not having it. A birdie whispered that you have to know someone who knows someone in order to get into shows because it is the Hunger Games. Our fave – Sergio – has done exceptionally well for himself, and while we don’t approve of forced entry, it’s somewhat understandable given our love for his work.
5. PETA Protestor Crashes Gucci Ancora
A woman disrupted a Gucci fashion show in Milan, protesting against the use of animal fur. The woman, who is believed to be a member of PETA, invaded the runway during a Gucci fashion show in Milan, waving a sign that read “Ban Exotic Skins.” A security guard promptly removed the activist. This incident underlines the ongoing dispute in the fashion industry about the use of animal fur and exotic skins. Milan Fashion Week, which includes shows by well-known designers such as Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace, acts as a forum for debates about ethical fashion choices.
40 Years Of Moschino “Loud Luxury” Show
Moschino is celebrating 40 years in the industry, and they are making sure we know they are still here to stay. They may still be without a creative director post-Jeremy Scott’s exit early this year; however, their character is still alive. As a whole, the collection was inspired by Franco Moschino’s revered silhouettes from the ’80s and ’90s. With this time capsule in mind, each of the aforementioned creators independently drafted their own referential vision board. Their ultimate goal was to illustrate the breadth of the founder’s codes from four different points of view.
During their SS24 showcase, Moschino took it back to the 90s with patterns, colors, and different styles, including ball gowns and swimsuits. The runway was bright, featuring models of different sizes, sexual orientations, and colors.
The multi-act play collection was crafted and composed by four House friends: Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Lucia Liu, and Katie Grand. Gabriella Karifa Johnson designed Act 2 of the Moschino S/S24 collection, according to the brand. Just to jog your memory, Johnson is a Global Contributing Fashion Editor-at-Large at Vogue and a stylist. She is recognized for her work at Vogue. Plus that very controversial “White Lives Matter” back and forth with Kanye in 2022.

The resulting collection reconstructed Franco’s traditional cowboy hats, statement jewelry, and crochet dresses for the modern lady. Beyonce’s “PURE/HONEY” blasted in the background while the show’s eccentric energy dominated the room. The show was the latest runway show to allow interaction among models, taking us right back to the 90s. A moment of nostalgia indeed.
