5 Quick Tips on How to Spot a Bad Friend

Are you dealing with a bad friend? We all have those friends that end up stabbing us in the back, and we never see it coming! Spotting a bad friend is harder than you think because  people are really good at being really fake.

There isn’t a guide for dodging a bad friend; you sort of just need to get really good at figuring it out for yourself.  I have experienced the red flags of the bad friend phenomenon. Hopefully this quick tips I learned can help you!

  1. They make you feel bad for your mistakes!

Good friends support you through the good and the bad! If your BFF makes you feel bad or less than for being a human being and making mistakes then they are not a supportive friend.

  1. They don’t congratulate you for your success; instead they are smug toward your accomplishments.

Jealousy inside friendships isn’t a good sign. Have friends who cheer you on! Not friends who are in competition with you. Friends who are proud of you are friends you should keep in your life forever.

  1. When you get in a fight they go out of their way to hurt you.

All friends fight, it is a part of life. A friend isn’t someone who will do things to hurt you, even if you are no longer friends anymore. It’s all about respect in any type of relationship.

  1. They talk badly about you behind your back.

Your bestie won’t be afraid to tell you the truth to your face, even if it hurts. DO NOT trust friends who talk poorly about you behind your back and then lie about it when you confront them.

  1. They do not appreciate your friendship.

If you are a people pleaser and are there for your friends 110% of the time and are not getting the same effort in return then you are dealing with a friend who uses your kind heart. They ask for things but never seem grateful and are never there when you need help, this is the kind of friend who isn’t a friend at all.

No matter what, the people you call your friends are there for you through the good times and the bad. They forgive you for your mistakes and love you for who you are. They are happy when you win and are sad when you lose.

Don’t get caught in the drama of bad friendships, trust me they aren’t worth your time and energy.
