Mefeater was invited to their most recent event which took place in Johannesburg – South Africa, in April 2022! The day party took place in an aesthetically pleasing venue called “The Nest” at the foot of Sandton. In a quest to showcase the Music, Entertainment, and Fashion of the event, Everyday People collaborated with MEFeater and we had the opportunity to interview some influencers, tastemakers, and industry greats. Some of the entertainers we hung out with include Jorge Gitoo Wright, who was such an entertaining host and MC for Everyday People. Apart from the many cool influencers we met, we also spoke to acquaintances of the brand, Akio and Anita from Strictly Soul, who explained the impact and goals of Everyday People.

AFRO NATION – GHANA

Afro Nation is an annual three-day music festival produced by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow. The festival was founded by Obi Asika and SMADE, in association with BBC 1 Xtra, in 2013. The platform was established to bring together the best African artists in Afrobeat, Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall, Amapiano, Afro House, and more. The first leg of this year’s festivals kickstarted in Portugal from July 1st until July 3rd.

For the festival goers, this year’s event fulfilled the 2-year long draught of social distancing and zero socializing. Social media was a buzz with Instagram reels featuring artist performances, festival fashion, and social engagements by the beach on the beautiful Praia da Rocha beach, just south of Portimão. The event hosted over 50 performances live on stage including Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Davido, Wizkid, Megan Thee Stallion, Musa Keys, and DBN Gogo. The 3 festival stages and VIP guests had exclusive access to special areas including a private beach. Now with a second edition taking place in Ghana, this coming December, Afro Nation is yet to see more success.
