The Chanel Haute Couture Show, Venue, and Clothes Were Amazing!! Thanks to Karl Lagerfeld

You may have heard the recent chatter about how Karl Lagerfeld, creative director for Chanel, brought the Eiffel Tower to his fashion show. While Lagerfeld is known for his grand set design and direction he surly topped himself with this show. He recreated the Eiffel Tower over his runway. This truly breathtaking and grandiose prop was a larger than life reflection of the show’s theme.

The sprit of Paris was Lagerfeld’s inspiration and the city of Paris was honored to be so. Paris’s mayor, Anne Hidalgo, honored Lagerfeld the Médaille Grand Vermeil de la Ville. This is the highest honor awarded in Paris. Hidalgo coupled her presentation of the award with many glowing remarks including, “To say that I was impressed is too weak a word. Your imagination is boundless, and your ability to transport us into a different universe. You are a universal person.”

Lagerfeld was paying tribute to the brand’s founder Coco Chanel herself. And what is a fall/winter Chanel collection without tweed!?! The primary fabrics of the sixty-four look collection were tweed and leather. he color palate was muted with pops of bright ruffles here and there. Check out some of our favorite looks…
